Jaspreet Singh, ESD MPhil student (14-15), wins Arup competition to support Agastya’s Raspberry Pi project.

Jaspreet Singh has won a 90 second video competition based within Arup.

Winners win a financial donations on a cause he/she supports. As one of the winners he was granted £4000 for Agastya (an NGO based in India).

Jaspreet created a 90 second video on Agastya’s Raspberry Pi project. The project is aimed at teaching students in rural India using digital technology (in this scenario Raspberry Pi). This project was conceptualised and initiated at University of Cambridge, where Jas completed his MPhil in Engineering for Sustainable Development in 2014/15, by a team of postgraduates and doctoral students. Half of the team that worked on this project was from the ESD department. Jaspreet with Arup’s support was also able to conduct a site work in January 2016 and is now planning to work on scaling this project .

An awareness of a range of assessment frameworks, sustainability metrics and methodologies such as Life Cycle Analysis, Systems Dynamics, Multi-Criteria Decision making and Impact Assessment.
