ESD alumni awarded a prestigious Fellowship

Our congratulations go to Ryan DuChanois, who graduated from the ESD MPhil programme in 2017, for being awarded a prestigious Abel Wolman Fellowship by the American Water Works Association (AWWA).

The Abel Wolman Fellowship supports promising students in the U.S., Canada, and Mexico pursuing advanced training and research in the field of water supply and treatment and in the first instance is for $30,000.

Ryan is currently a Ph.D. Candidate and National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellow in the Department of Chemical and Environmental Engineering at Yale University. His work is taking inspiration from biological channels and he is developing a synthetic membrane able to selectively remove a single species from water, such as a contaminant or valuable resource.
