MPhil in Engineering for Sustainable Development

global challenges, engineering solutions

Menna Dessouki (ESD 15-16 ) presents at Resilient Cities 2018 conference

Menna Dessouki presented her MPhil dissertation poster at the Resilient Cities 2018 conference (the 9th Annual Global Forum on Urban Resilience and Adaptation) in Bonn, Germany.

Her research, entitled “Circular Urban Metabolism as a Design Approach for Master Plans”, proposed a framework for circulating resource and non-resource flows within a master plan across different stages of design decision making. A summary of the dissertation research can be found here: https://www-esdmphil.eng.cam.ac.uk/about-the-programme/dissertations/students/menna-dessouki

Resilient Cities 2018 welcomed participants from over 50 countries to Bonn, including mayors and vice mayors and featured more than 400 participants. The conference focused on ways in which local governments, academics, scientists and practitioners can cooperate to provide resilient infrastructure and services for cities.
